Housing Affordability and Supporting Local Communities
Over the last four years I announced positive and practical policies which will help support local communities.
Whether it be policies in health by reinstating local district health boards; in education by giving school communities a greater say over local school infrastructure; or in planning by scrapping Part 3A and returning planning powers to communities – I believe in encouraging local energy and ownership.
Since my last blog, the summer holidays have officially ended after celebrating Australia Day, and school starting back for 1.1 million NSW students for a new year.
In this time the NSW Liberals & Nationals have announced a Local School, Local Decisions Action Plan; announced we will fast-track the roll-out of school zone flashing lights to increase safety for school children; and are holding the Keneally Labor Government to account for putting thousands of children into classrooms without air conditioning (despite the Building the Education Revolution (BER) projects).
Continuing from last week's blog, I continued my Walking Tour of NSW visiting local communities on the Central Coast, Wollondilly, the Blue Mountains and Heathcote.
Most of us make New Year resolutions each year.
My New Year resolution for 2011 is to redouble my efforts to win the March 2011 State Election and start the change NSW needs - to Make NSW Number One Again.
Christmas is a special time of year. It’s a time to affirm our faith and be thankful for the well-being of our families and our communities.
As we relax with our family and friends it gives us pause to reflect on Christmas’ true spirit – peace, tolerance, and support for those less fortunate than ourselves.
